Our Pastor

Rev. Dr. Louis P. Attles

     Pastor Attles was assigned to La Mott A.M.E. Church in Elkins Park, Pennsylvania on January 22, 2012, where he currently pastors. Dr. Attles is looking forward to God continuing to do great things as he serves God at La Mott A.M.E. Church. Pastor Attles was born to Drs. LeRoy and Henrietta Attles, in Plainfield, New Jersey, on December 7th. His family moved to Massachusetts when he was seven, and he completed his early education in the public schools there. Pastor Attles received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Prairie View A & M University in Prairie View, Texas and his Masters of Divinity Degree from Turner Seminary at the Interdenominational Theological Center, Atlanta, Georgia. He obtained his Doctorate of Ministry Degree from Andover Newton Seminary in Newton, Massachusetts. Pastor Attles has been involved in ministry his entire life.

     He accepted his Pastoral Call to ministry in 1989 at St. Paul A.M.E. Church in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where his father, Rev. Dr. LeRoy Attles, was the pastor. Rev. Attles served as Pastor at Ebenezer A.M.E. Church in Blakely, Georgia for a short period of time before being sent to pastor First A.M.E. Church in Lockport, New York for three years. During this time, he also served as President of the NAACP-Niagara/Orleans Branch. He was appointed Pastor of Bethel A.M.E. Church, Morristown, New Jersey in the spring of 2000, by the Rt. Rev. Philip R. Cousin.

    He served at Bethel, Morristown for four years and while there, he married Kelly Mitchell on July 20, 2002. On November 1, 2003, Simone Miette Attles was born. Simone Miette means "God heard the gentle, quiet leader of the house". In October 2011, the Attles became guardians to Sasha Bigelow. Both Sasha and Simone continue to bring blessings to their parents' lives. Pastor Attles thanks God for the gift of a wonderful family. From Morristown, Pastor Attles went on to pastor St. James A.M.E. Church in Atlantic City, NJ, where he served faithfully from October, 2004 to March 2007.

      Pastor Attles then moved on to pastor Ebenezer A.M.E. Church in Rahway, New Jersey; where he served from 2007 - 2011. On June 17, 2011 - January 2012 Pastor Attles served Allen Temple A.M.E. Church in Mt. Vernon, New York. If you are asked to remember only one thing about Pastor Attles, remember that he is saved from the power of sin and in love with God. Further, Pastor Attles has a deep love for the word of God and the salvation of all people.
